Developing Childhood E-Health Tool Launch

Announcing the launch of online e-health tool “Developing Childhood”

Announcing the launch of an online, personalised, e-health tool “Developing Childhood” (www.developingchildhood.com.au).

The Developing Foundation Inc. (www.developingfoundation.org.au), which is a charitable organisation established in 1978 to support children and adults with developmental disability and brain injury, has provided the funding for the design and development of this exciting new initiative and has the Australasian license to promote the program.  As advocates for parents caring for children with developmental disability, we understand the need for early detection and intervention.

Developing Childhood provides unique milestone advice and activities so that parents can understand and enhance their baby or toddler’s early development.   It will be available as a subscription product.  For most parents, this program will provide peace of mind that their child is achieving all of his or her milestones within normal time frames.  For those children showing signs of slipping behind, Developing Childhood will provide real-time detection and intervention with age-appropriate activities which encourage milestone development.  It will detect those children who may be showing signs of significant developmental delay and who will need ongoing specialist treatment in addition to the support provided by Developing Childhood, and we will be advising parents to seek advice from the professional community.

It will be available as a subscription product.  For most parents, this program will provide peace of mind that their child is progressing in the functional areas of vision, auditory, tactile, movement speech and hand function.  For those children slipping behind, Developing Childhood will provide real time detection and intervention with age-appropriate activities which encourage milestone development.  However, for those children who may need ongoing specialist treatment, we will advise parents to seek advice from the professional community.

We aim to run a national Developing Childhood awareness campaign to those professionals who potentially will be seeing Developing Childhood Reports from subscribing parents seeking treatment for their children and to Government and non-government organisations which support children with developmental delay.
Through 2010 we are launching Developing Childhood in each state at the Pregnancy, Babies and Children’s Expos.

The first of these is being held in Sydney next week - download your free ticket here!
