Integrative Solutions, to learn about effective treatments that are helping treat
Autism, ADHD and a range of neuro-developmental and neuro-biological
illness in children.
Now more than ever, Australian children need effective Integrative healthcare.
Today ADHD effects 1 in 10, Autism at least 1 in 160 and allergies 1 in
3.**
Training will support all Doctors in their ability to detect and refer out. Early
intervention is important for best outcomes and GPS play a significant role in
initial detection and referrals.
A recent survey* conducted by Crowley & Associates found that 50% of the
delays in the diagnosis of Autism were due to false reassurances from health
professionals (GPs, Paediatricians, MCHNs). The average delay for all
children surveyed was approximately 2 years, with a median delay of 17
months. Treatment outcomes can be improved significantly with early
detection and intervention so educating GPs is critical.
Training will also help practitioners field patient queries on nutritional
medicine, diet and Integrative healthcare.
Dr. Keryn Phelps, former AMA President and newly appointed President of
The Australian Integrative Medical Association, believes Integrative Medicine
is set to become the new “mainstream…Through Integrative Medicine we will
see true health care reform.”
Mindd Foundation helps to promote cutting-edge research and Integrative
treatments to the professional community with the aim of fast-tracking
effective treatments to children, especially during critical neuro-developmental
periods.
Integrative Solutions will provide an overview of a range of Integrative
treatments for children such as diet, nutritional medicine, neurodevelopmental
therapies (sensory integration, auditory & visual processing)
and behavioural therapies (RDI, ABA, Sonrise).
Information provided will improve the clinician’s ability to understand the
numerous aspects of childhood conditions. The presence of local experts
(speakers and exhibitors) enable them to refer out to local specialists.
Additionally, a practitioner’s training module will also offer specialised training
in how to assess, test for and treat nutritional deficiencies and infections in the
individual patient with a focus on metabolic and digestive health.
General Practitioners will receive RACGP QA & CPD points category 2.
